What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapists are licensed professionals that can teach individuals how to prevent or manage their condition so that they can achieve long term health benefits. We teach movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Our profession can also work closely with local communities for health promotion, fitness, and well-being. At Cypress Home Therapy, we take a wholistic approach that is focused on fall prevention.

In a nutshell, Physical Therapists are “MOVEMENT EXPERTS!”

What Is Fall Prevention?

Fall prevention is a strategic action plan, focused on helping older adults and seniors avoid falls. This unique service is for those with a preventative mindset looking to stop reoccurring falls or avoid one altogether.

One in three seniors has a fall each year, with more than half resulting in hospitalization. This is a national crisis and few solutions are being offered to our aging population regarding fall prevention. Fall prevention defaults to private pay as insurance does not cover preventative physical therapy. Paying privately allows you to determine when your health goals have been met, meaning that you can schedule as many visits as you feel necessary to regain your balance, confidence, and strength.

With a successful fall prevention program, you are ensuring your ability to continue doing the things you love, staying out of hospital, and enjoying your active retirement.
